Background:
The Center for Studies in Animal Nutrition and
Reproduction - NUTRAN has been active in the
Department of Zootechnics since its inception in 2013,
offering undergraduate and graduate students the
opportunity to enhance their knowledge in nutrition
and reproduction of ruminants. NUTRAN members
participate in research development, assisting in
experiments from field research to data compilation
and interpretation, writing abstracts and articles, and
presenting papers at scientific events. Its members
carry out field activities at the Center for Technology
Development and Transfer - Fazenda Palmital - UFLA,
engaging in routine dairy herd management. This
practice facilitates greater contact between students
and the daily life of a dairy farm. NUTRAN also strives
to spread knowledge in nutrition and reproduction by
organizing events such as lectures and symposiums,
with the participation of recognized speakers in their
respective fields who address current issues on the
proposed topics.
Overall Objectives:
To provide students with the opportunity to
enhance knowledge on nutrition and reproduction
of ruminants through participation in scientific
research and experiential activity in farms, as well as
to disseminate current knowledge in nutrition and
reproduction through technical-scientific events.
Areas of Expertise:
1. Technical-scientific events: Technical-scientific events
at UFLA, disseminating knowledge on nutrition and
reproduction of ruminants.
2. Field activities: This facilitates contact of students
with the practical routine of a farm.
3. Research: Participation in scientific research
projects.
4. Publication of abstracts: As a result of their
development in experiments, group members produce
and publish abstracts of the research.
