Background:
The Center for Soybean and Bean Studies of the
Federal University of Lavras (UFLA), founded in June
2011 at the Department of Agriculture, was created
with the purpose of bringing together undergraduate
and graduate students in teaching, research and
extension interested in deepening their knowledge
of soybean and bean crops. It holds a biannual cycle
of lectures on soybean and bean, and annually, in
partnership with the Center for Corn and Sorghum
Studies, it organizes the Refresher Symposium in Corn
and Soybean Crops. It also takes part in VITAGRO
(Agribusiness Fair), organized annually by the Federal
University of Lavras. In addition, the center organizes
technical visits to rural properties and companies
related to agribusiness.
Overall Objectives:
To bring together professionals, students and producers
engaged in activities related to soybean and bean crops
with the purpose of organizing technical meetings,
lectures, debates, field work and other technical-scientific
events that may contribute to enhance knowledge of the
production system in this area.
