Background:
GREV has been in activity for approximately five years.
Over this period it organized several festivals and even
lectures and academic congresses. The festivals are
held every six months. These festivals are organized
with the aim of publicizing the project, as well as
introducing children to a different reality compared
to their everyday life, since in these events they have
the possibility of interacting through volleyball
with children from all over the region. Lectures and
congresses have academic objectives and are aimed
at students of the physical education courses, mainly
from UFLA and FAGAMMON. Research, articles,
abstracts in congresses and participation of members
in several congresses were produced and carried out
during those years.
Overall Objectives:
To develop research on volleyball and use this sport to
benefit children of the city of Lavras.
Areas of Expertise:
1. Physical Education: Through physical education,
use mechanisms that foster the motor and cognitive
development of children involved in the projects.
2. Sport: Sport is the medium used for intervention.
Classes are structured around play and games, aiming
to reach higher levels specific to each population.
3. Sport Psychology: Sport Psychology is an area that
supports the action of this group and contributes to
interpreting the situations experienced daily in the
interventions.
