Background:
The Center for Studies in Energy Efficiency of the
Federal University of Lavras was founded in 2013 by
students in control and automation engineering.
We currently have 30 members, some of whom are
participating in exchange programs. Based in the
Engineering Department of UFLA, NE3 focuses its
studies in the energy efficiency sector and proposes
to raise awareness among the society of Lavras and
the academic community of the importance of energy
efficiency nowadays. In 2014, the center took the first
university team to the Energy Efficiency University
Marathon, defending the university colors in an
unprecedented event. In addition to participating in
this competition, the group organizes internal events
for students, giving them the opportunity to learn in
mini-courses related to MatLab Basic Software and the
Arduino Platform, taught by students from the actual
center. All these events linked to the center take place
more than once during the semester, except for the
university competition which happens once a year at the
Ayrton Senna International Go-Kart Track, in São Paulo.
Overall Objectives:
To execute projects in the area of energy efficiency
and production of electric and internal combustion
vehicles to participate in university competitions, to
develop and apply research at a multidisciplinary
level, and, lastly, to produce scientific articles and
bibliographical reviews.
Areas of Expertise:
1. Mini-courses: Related to MatLab Software and
Arduino Platform, given by members.
2. Vehicle Production: Participation in the energy
efficiency university marathon.
3. Research: Studies related to energy efficiency and
environment.
4. Publications: Production of papers and
bibliographic reviews related to research developed in
the study center.
