Background:

Consea Júnior was conceived during the Unicamp

Academic Week in July 2004, but was officially founded in

October 2005. Since then it has been offering consulting

services in the area of food engineering. The company

comprises undergraduate food engineering students from

all periods and entrance is subject to a qualified selection

process. Consea is a company that actively contributes to

society; in addition to projects, it also carries out different

social projects and organizes events and lectures.

Overall Objectives:

To offer companies efficient, qualified and affordable

consultancy, guaranteed by the supervision of professors

and appropriate infrastructure, and to provide students

with the opportunity to apply theoretical concepts learned

in their undergraduate studies, fostering distinctive

personal, professional and academic training.

Areas of Expertise:

1. Physical-Chemical and Microbiological Analyses:

These are qualitative and quantitative analyses for the

identification of the main chemical compounds present in

food, their levels and possible contamination.

2. Development of New Products and Methods: This

relates to developing a new formulation for a product or

improving processing techniques to ensure maximum and

safe shelf life.

3. Selection of Packaging and Labeling: This concerns

selecting material that will best protect food and the best

way to display the information necessary to trade the

product.

4. Hygiene Quality Control: This relates to procedures that

stipulate good manufacturing and waste management

practices.
