Background:
The Center for Studies in Immunobiology Studies
(NEIMBIO), a non-partisan civil organization
headquartered in the city of Lavras (MG), will
have perpetual existence and aim to promote
the constant enhancement and development of
its members in all areas of knowledge related to
immunology, immunity and immune response, with
the goal of acquire and increasing knowledge those
areas through group studies, courses, lectures,
debates and other events. The founding members
have created a statute that regulates purpose and
constitution, attributions, membership, component
bodies, assets and resources, penalties, general and
transitional provisions. The founding members are:
Professor Christian Hirsch, Professor Ana Paula
Peconick, graduate students Bruno A. Soares and
Carolina F. Prezotto, and undergraduate students
Anna Cecília T.R.B. Costa, Hernani Costa, Isabelle
G.O. Prado, Natália Fernanda do Couto, Pedro
Henrique S. Cezar.
Overall Objectives:
To bring together students, professors, professionals,
producers and technicians, among others, who are
interested in and/or perform activities related to the
development of technologies and extension in the field of
animal reproduction.
Areas of Expertise:
1. Undergraduate education: Pedagogical and/or
extension activities with undergraduate students. The
goal is to complement undergraduates’ training and
encourage them to conduct immunology research.
2. Graduate education: Pedagogical and/or extension
activities with graduate students to enhance knowledge
on immunology and exchange useful experiences in
their research.
3. Research: Dissemination of research by group
members; search for solutions to common problems
and new research proposals; introduction of students to
research of this science.
4. Extension: Organization of extension events in the area
of immunology, such as public campaigns, courses, lectures
and direct assistance to citizens with interests in this area.
