Background:
The Agricultural Machinery and Mechanization
Study Group - GEMMA was created by undergraduate
students in agricultural engineering and agronomy
of the Federal University of Lavras with the aim of
enhancing their knowledge and seeking new knowledge
on agricultural machinery and mechanization.
Overall Objectives:
To seek complementary knowledge in matters related to
agricultural machinery and the process of agricultural
mechanization; to integrate students of various levels,
subjects and courses, promoting interdisciplinarity,
stimulating the exchange of knowledge and
professional exchange of different areas of knowledge.
Areas of Expertise:
1. Agricultural Mechanization: Study, research
and publication of works related to the process of
agricultural mechanization, such as: soil tillage,
sowing, crop cultivation, harvesting.
2. Tractors and Engines: Study and improvement of
knowledge regarding national and international
agricultural tractors.
3. Processing of agricultural products: Study of the
post-harvest processes of agricultural products, such
as grains, coffee, sugarcane and others.
4. Maintenance of Agricultural Machinery: Study of
the maintenance of mechanized agricultural systems,
their attributes, characteristics and particularities.
