Background:
Zeus Formula Team was founded in October 2014
and comprises students from various engineering
courses, in addition to the help of students from
other courses. Passionate about cars and engineering,
its members learn about teamwork and having an
entrepreneurial attitude regarding their creation
process and the professionalization of their activities
to face all the challenges they encounter. This enables
them to achieve excellent leadership, communication
and technical skills while being able to solve various
problems encountered throughout the competition.
Being a determined team that is committed and
constantly seeking to surpass itself is an excellent edge
and the key to success. Since the beginning of 2015
the team has been developing and designing its first
car, focusing on project development and conducting

research, testing, simulations and visits with the
purpose of acquiring the differentiated knowledge and
vision of a new team. Thus, it intends to participate in
the 2016 Formula SAE competition with a solid and
extremely reliable project, capable of achieving good
results.
Overall Objectives:
To design, develop and build a track vehicle to
participate in the annual Formula competitions
held by SAE, in addition to publicizing the Federal
University of Lavras and the professional and personal
development of its members and partners.
Areas of Expertise:
1. Mechanics: Physics, study of fluid mechanics, design
and sizing of mechanical systems.
2. Materials: Activities related to the study of materials
and their applications, resistance of materials and
new types of materials.
3. Automation: Development of electronic systems and
process automation.
4. Industrial Technology: Activities related to the
development of CAD, CFD, CAM, CAE and industrial
machines.
