The proportion <strong>of</strong> women who have ever experienced physical violence is highest among<br />

women age 25-29. These women are also more likely to report having experienced physical violence<br />

sometimes or <strong>of</strong>ten in the past 12 months (39 percent). Women who are employed for cash are more<br />

likely to report having experienced physical violence since age 15 than women who are unemployed<br />

or employed but not for cash. This may be an indication that working women who have an<br />

independent source <strong>of</strong> cash income may pose a challenge to the established norm <strong>of</strong> being dependent<br />
