Table 16.9 shows the experience <strong>of</strong> spousal violence among ever-married women by<br />

background characteristics. Women age 25-29 are generally more likely to have experienced<br />

emotional, physical, or sexual violence than those in the older or younger age groups. For instance,<br />

more than two in five women age 25-29 experienced all three forms <strong>of</strong> violence, compared with less<br />

than one in three women in the other cohorts. The findings show that women who are unemployed are<br />

most likely to experience emotional, physical, or sexual violence (39 percent).<br />
