801.06 Specialized programs or experiences offered in the<br />

summer outside the courses of study approved for regular<br />

instruction by the <strong>Board</strong> of Education are not covered<br />

by Section 801.02.<br />

Article 802<br />

Use of College Scrip<br />

Scrip shall be issued according tothefollowing priorities<br />

and stipulations:<br />

Priority I.Present full-time professional staff members<br />

in M.A. or Ph.D. programs who must finish course work<br />

during the upcoming quarter or lose credits, and present<br />

full-timeprofessional staff members, including vocational<br />

teachers, who must attend the university to maintain<br />

their present position because of certification/licensure<br />

requirements.<br />

Priority II.Professional staff members on sabbatical<br />

leaves. (Such staff members shall be given sufficient scrip<br />

for full-time attendance, subject to availability.) Priority<br />

II also includes certificated staff enrolled in a master’s or<br />

doctoral program in a college of education.<br />

Priority III.Allother applicants, not in Priority groups<br />

Iand II listed above, shall be considered on the basis of<br />

seniority in the Columbus City School System.<br />

Stipulations:<br />

A. A joint Association/<strong>Board</strong> committee shall be<br />

appointed to resolve problems which may arise in the<br />

credit bank system and to apply the above-mentioned<br />

priorities if limitations or restrictions shall be deemed<br />

necessary by the committee.<br />

B. An application form which reflects the above priorities<br />

and which indicates whether or not the applicant<br />

is an Association member, shall be mutually developed<br />

by the parties. Association membership shall in<br />

no way relate to the priorities established above.<br />

Article 803<br />

Physical Examination<br />

803.01 Thecost of a physical examination of a teacher<br />

which is required by the <strong>Board</strong> shall be borne by the<br />

<strong>Board</strong> of Education. The <strong>Board</strong> shall have the right to<br />

designate the doctor to administer such required physical<br />

examination.<br />

803.02 Forthe purposes of this article, the term physical<br />

examination does not include the initial employment<br />

physical examination required of all teachers new to the<br />

Columbus City Schools.<br />
