905.04<br />

A. Senior head coaches, as provided in 905.01 above,<br />

shall be authorized provided there are enough participants<br />

to field a team and play a regular schedule for<br />

the season. The minimum number of participants in<br />

individual sports are as follows:<br />

Boys’ Baseball–15<br />

Boys’ Basketball–10<br />

Boys’ Cross Country–10<br />

Boys’ Soccer–14<br />

Boys’ Tennis–10<br />

Boys’ Track & Field–15<br />

Boys’ Wrestling–15<br />

Girls’ Basketball–10<br />

Girls’ Cross Country–10<br />

Girls’ Gymnastics–7<br />

Girls’ Soccer–14<br />

Girls’ Softball–15<br />

Girls’ Tennis–10<br />

Girls’ Track & Field–15<br />

Bowling–8<br />

Golf–7<br />

Swimming–15<br />

Volleyball–12<br />

Middle School Basketball–10<br />

Middle School Soccer–14<br />

1. In the event there are not enough participants for a<br />

boys’ cross-country coach and/or a girls’ cross<br />

country coach, a co-ed cross-country coach shall<br />

be authorized with a minimum of twelve (12) participants.<br />

2. In the event there are more than twenty (20) participants<br />

in swimming and a minimumofeight (8)<br />

boys and eight (8) girls, a head coach is authorized<br />

for both boys’ swimming and girls’ swimming.<br />

3. In the event there are not enough participants to<br />

initially qualify for a head coach, the Director of<br />

Student Activities: may authorize the appointment<br />

of a coach; may authorize the appointment of a<br />

coach with a prorated salary based on number of<br />

participants and/or amount of season; or may seek<br />

alternativeoptions for the students who wish to<br />

participate in a particular sport.<br />

4. Students will not be counted in the minimum<br />

number of participants for more than one team<br />

during the same season. A student may participate<br />

in more than one sport in a season and must be<br />

listed on the OHSAA eligibility sheet for each<br />

sport in which they participate but cannot count<br />

as one oftheminimumnumberinmorethanone<br />
