where continuation of such programs is not reasonably<br />

assured.<br />

904.03 Full-time hourly professional employees shall be<br />

provided all the benefits of this <strong>Agreement</strong> except that<br />

leave return provisions shall be dependent upon the continued<br />

availability of theprogramfrom which the<br />

employee took such leave.<br />

904.04 Full-time hourly professional employees shall be<br />

granted the following paid holidays at their regular rate<br />

of pay: Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day,<br />

New Year’s Day, Martin Luther King Day, one (1) day<br />

during spring vacation, Memorial Day, and<br />

Independence Day. Such employees shall be paid at their<br />

regular rate ofpayfor“snowdays”solongastheywere<br />

scheduled to work on such days and their school program<br />

was canceled by the Superintendent.<br />

904.05 The following guidelines shall be followed in determining<br />

teaching years of experience for full-time hourly<br />

professional employees:<br />

A. All full-time previous Columbus City School District<br />

teaching experience is counted.<br />

B. A maximum of five (5) years experience out of the<br />

system with or without a degree.<br />

1. Includes military service.<br />

2. Industrial experience can be counted if it is for<br />

twelve (12) months per year and above and<br />

beyond certification requirements.<br />

C. Full-time teaching experience if it is for 120 days or<br />

more per year.<br />

D. Teaching experience in public education institutions,<br />

maximum of five (5) years.<br />

E. Teaching in federally funded programs, such as:<br />

Concentrated <strong>Employment</strong> Programs<br />

Neighborhood Youth Corps<br />

Manpower Development and Training<br />

F. In order to be counted, federally funded programs<br />

must meet full-time teaching requirements:<br />

6ormorehoursperday<br />

5daysperweek<br />

37 weeks per year<br />

G. Substitute teaching in Columbus City Schools if 120<br />

days or more per year.<br />

H. Degree person–recognize and give credit for industrial<br />

experience uptofive(5)years.<br />

904.06 In the event the <strong>Board</strong> adjusts the work week for<br />

full-time hourly employees so that such an employee<br />

worksthirty (30) or more hours per week but less than<br />

five (5) days per week, such employee shall retain fulltime<br />

hourly status.<br />
