205.06 Notwithstanding Sections 205.01 and 205.04 above,<br />
citywide program teachers who are assigned to school<br />
buildings may be required to attend one (1) city-wide<br />
program after-school staff/in-service meeting on a pupil<br />
attendance day during the school year. Announcement of<br />
this meeting shall clearly state that attendance is mandatory.<br />
This meeting shall not exceed one and one-half (1<br />
1<br />
⁄2) hours in length.<br />
205.07 The parties agree that, in the event the <strong>Board</strong> determines<br />
to pilot a longer school year and/or longer school<br />
day during the term of this contract, the parties will bargain<br />
this issue in good faith recognizing that time is of<br />
theessence. Such pilot programs will not be implemented<br />
without agreement of the Association.<br />
Article 206<br />
Teaching Environment and New Buildings<br />
206.01 Copying machine(s) (or technologically more<br />
advanced equipment) and computers shall be made available<br />
in the teachers’ workspace, classrooms and/or teachers’<br />
lounges. The number of copiers and their capacity<br />
shall be equitably distributed among school buildings<br />
consistent with funds appropriated and budgeted for<br />
such purpose. Copiers shall be maintained and repaired<br />
as soon as possible. The district shall continue to implement<br />
secure, advanced technology for teacher access to<br />
enter school and student information.<br />
206.02 Each classroom shall have sufficient chalkboard/<br />
whiteboard and bulletin board space to complement the<br />
teacher’s instruction.<br />
206.03 Teachers shall be permitted to have coffee-making<br />
devices and coffee and soft drink vending machines in<br />
theteachers’ lounges as space permits. Teachers shall be<br />
permitted to have efficiency-type ranges, microwave<br />
ovens and refrigerators in teachers’ lounges as space and<br />
the availability of utilities permit. All such devices and<br />
equipment shall be maintained by the faculty. Teachers<br />
shall not be required to perform the custodial duties in<br />
the staff lounge and shall not be required to prepare<br />
food, clean tables or perform other significant custodial<br />
chores in connection with the lunch programs. Teachers<br />
who use the staff lounge or use the appliances in the staff<br />
lounge may be required to share in the cleaning of the<br />
appliances, to keep their personal property cleaned and<br />
stored and to leave their eatingareainaclean and orderly<br />
condition. The expenditure of any profits realized from<br />
the above-mentioned vending machines shall be in accordance<br />
with guidelines established by the principal in consultation<br />
with the Association Building Council where<br />
the development of such guidelines are requested by the<br />
Association Building Council.<br />
