A. Mission: To provide leadership and guidance in the<br />
management of the district’s health benefits provided<br />
for the CEA bargaining unit.<br />
B. Decisions: All attempts will be made to utilize consensus<br />
decision making strategies; however, in lieu of<br />
such, at least 2/3 vote of the full committee membership<br />
will be required to pass a resolution or reach<br />
agreement.<br />
C. Scope: The joint committee shall make recommendations<br />
to the <strong>Board</strong> of Education on matters including,<br />
but not limited to, plan design, wellness programs,<br />
coverage for other members of the teacher’s household,<br />
funding levels, premiums and employee contribution<br />
levels for the CEA bargaining unit. These recommendations,<br />
if approved and signed by the CEA<br />
President and Superintendent, shall be binding as if<br />
negotiated and ratified.<br />
D. Meetings: Meetings will be scheduled as needed by<br />
the co-chairs. Each meeting will have a regular<br />
recorder (non-voting). A quorum is required consisting<br />
of at least three (3) members from the Association<br />
and two (2) members from Administration. The<br />
joint committee will make recommendations on the<br />
selection of providers and consultants.<br />
Article 807<br />
Dental Insurance<br />
During the term of this <strong>Agreement</strong>, the <strong>Board</strong> shall continuethe<br />
current dental insurance program, as specifically<br />
modified below, for members of the bargaining unit electing<br />
and eligible for such coverage,inaccordance with the following<br />
provisions and stipulations:<br />
A. The <strong>Board</strong> shall pay ninety (90) percent of the cost<br />
of the unitary rate for regular contract employees<br />
employed a minimum of one-half time or more and<br />
for full-time hourly professional employees. Such<br />
employees shall pay ten (10) percent of the cost of<br />
such coverage by the payroll deduction schedule.<br />
B. In the event the <strong>Board</strong> elects to change the insurance<br />
carrier during the term of this <strong>Agreement</strong>, the benefits<br />
provided under such insurance programs shall not<br />
be reduced.<br />
C. The dental insurance program shall be as follows:<br />
1. Description of Covered Services<br />
Subject to the exclusions and limitations hereinafter<br />
stated, the following is a brief description of<br />
covered dental services when such services are rendered<br />
by a licensed dentist and when necessary and<br />
customary, as determined by the standards of generally<br />
accepted dental practice:<br />
