E. Any such school calendar will also include:<br />

1. Labor Day as a paid holiday<br />

2. Thanksgiving and the Friday immediately following<br />

as paid holidays<br />

3. Martin Luther King’s observed birthday as a paid<br />

holiday<br />

4. A spring intermission of six (6) paid school days<br />

of which five (5) shall be consecutive days<br />

5. The observed Memorial Day as a paid holiday<br />

6. 195 contract days<br />

Collective bargaining for school calendars other than for<br />

the school year immediately following the expiration of a<br />

collective bargaining agreement are not subject to this<br />

section, but are subject to bargaining in accordance with<br />

other sections of this article.<br />

1501.04 Joint Negotiation Committee<br />

No more than nine (9) representatives or designees of<br />

the <strong>Board</strong>, the Superintendent or his/her designated representative,<br />

and no more than ten (10) representatives<br />

named by the Exclusive Representative shall comprise a<br />

joint committee for the purpose of negotiating. All negotiations<br />

shall be conducted in executive session and<br />

exclusively between said representatives or designees. In<br />

addition, each team of representatives or designees shall<br />

be authorized to admit no more than two observers at<br />

one time to such meetings. Such observers, if any, shall<br />

be designated prior to each Joint Negotiation Committee<br />

meeting and shall be without the right to speak or to<br />

otherwise comment to either party during said meetings.<br />

1501.05 Good Faith Bargaining<br />

Good faith bargaining shall mean the obligation on all<br />

parties to deal openly and fairly on all matters being<br />

negotiated in a sincere effort to reach a mutual understanding<br />

and agreement on such matters, but such obligation<br />

does not compel either party to agree to a proposal<br />

or require the making ofaconcession.<br />

1501.06 Days<br />

Days shall mean calendar days.<br />

1501.07 Meetings<br />

Negotiation Meetings–Upon written request of the<br />

Exclusive Representative made not less than fifteen (15)<br />

days and not more than thirty (30) days prior to March<br />

15, the <strong>Board</strong> President or his/her designated representative<br />

shall call for the initial meetingoftheJointNegotiation<br />

Committeetotakeplacenotlater than March 15,<br />

giving due notice oftimeandplace. The purpose of this<br />

initial meeting shall be for establishing agenda items for<br />

subsequent meetings, and for the handling of administrative<br />

details. Thereafter, negotiations meetings shall be<br />
