A. Aprofessional leave committee will be formed to develop<br />
and administer a professional leave program<br />
for the members of the bargaining unit. The <strong>Board</strong> will<br />
provide up to $100,000 per year for FY 1987, 1988 and<br />
1989. The purpose of this leave program is to improve<br />
theprofessional performance of teachers. The funds provided<br />
shall be used to supportactivities directed toward<br />
this purpose. As an example, the funds may be used to<br />
pay for registration at a conference, related out-of-town<br />
travel expenses and the cost of classroom substitute<br />
teachers but shall not be used to pay the teacher for<br />
attending a conference.<br />
B. A committee will be formed to conduct a study and a<br />
pilot program designed to assess the desirability and feasibility<br />
of utilizing the supplemental contract approach<br />
to elementary school lunchroom supervision.<br />
C. A committee will be formed to study the feasibility and<br />
desirability of providing tape recorded, telephone<br />
answering service for the use of teachers in reporting<br />
their expected absence from work.<br />
