gainingagreement effective until December 31, 2004, agree<br />
upon this Memorandum as an addition to terms set forth in<br />
the collective bargaining agreement: Effective for the 2003–<br />
2004 school year, all high schools in the Columbus City<br />
Schools District, with the exception of Fort Hayes Arts and<br />
Academic High School, Eastmoor Academy and Columbus<br />
Alternative High School, shall institute a student day consisting<br />
of eight (8) 50–55 minute periods. No teacher shall<br />
be assigned more than five periods of instruction per day. In<br />
theevent any school or teacher elects to deviate from this<br />
schedule, the school must first obtain approval from the<br />
Reform Panel. This schedule shall only be effective districtwide<br />
for the 2003–2004 academic year.<br />

Memorandum of <strong>Agreement</strong><br />
In connection with the settlement of a new <strong>Agreement</strong><br />
between the <strong>Board</strong> of Education and the Columbus<br />
Education Association effective August 25, 1986, certain<br />
table agreements and commitments were made. They are as<br />
follows:<br />
A. Theobjection filed with the <strong>State</strong> <strong>Employment</strong><br />
<strong>Relations</strong> <strong>Board</strong> on behalf of the Columbus <strong>Board</strong> of<br />
Education with regard to the inclusion of tutors in the<br />
CEA bargaining unit will be withdrawn and no further<br />
objections, in any form, will be filed on behalf of the<br />
<strong>Board</strong> of Education. Should SERB, at a future date,<br />
include tutors in the current teacher bargaining unit, the<br />
<strong>Board</strong> and CEA agree that bargaining after such inclusion<br />
between the <strong>Board</strong> and CEA will establish whatever<br />
contractual provisions are applicable to tutors and that<br />
none of the provisions of the August 25, 1986,<br />
<strong>Board</strong>/CEA <strong>Agreement</strong> will automatically apply to<br />
tutors.<br />
B. The six full-time hourly professional employees currently<br />
teaching at the North Education Center in the daytime<br />
high school program will be offered regular teaching<br />
contracts for the 1986-87 school year. The board will not<br />
establish new full-time hourly positions in this program.<br />
Theparties recognize that the work year for teachers in<br />
this program will be somewhat different from the regularly<br />
adopted school calendar. The total number of work<br />
days will not exceed the number in the adopted calendar.<br />
Memorandum of <strong>Agreement</strong><br />
The President of CEA and the Superintendent will appoint<br />
committees made up of an equal number of teachers and<br />
administrators for the purposes outlined below. The size,<br />
