credit on the experience steps.<br />

901.05 Members of the bargaining unit possessing a bachelor’s<br />

degree and providing service in a Trades and Industries<br />

teaching area shall be placed on the 150 Hours and<br />

Bachelor’s Degree track for salary purposes. OWE and<br />

OWAshall not be considered a Trades and Industries<br />

teaching area for purposes described in this section.<br />

901.06 Recognition of training shall be on the basis of transcripts<br />

of credit.<br />

901.07 Credit for years of public school teaching experience<br />

shall be granted in full up to five (5) years and, for teachershired<br />

on or after July 1, 2000, may be granted up to<br />

ten (10) years. A “year” shall consist of at least one hundred<br />

and twenty (120) days for at least seven (7) hours<br />

perday during a school year. Public school teaching<br />

experience, for purposes of this provision, shall include<br />

teaching experience in all public schools, teaching experience<br />

in accredited armed forces and U.S. <strong>State</strong> Department<br />

Dependency Schools, and teaching experience in<br />

the Peace Corps and VISTA. Service credit may be given<br />

to physical therapists, school social workers, nurses,<br />

occupational therapists and speech therapistsforprivate<br />

employment or self-employment prior to employment by<br />

the <strong>Board</strong>, withatleast eight months’ full-time employment<br />

or self-employment inatwelve-monthperiod<br />

counting as one year.<br />

901.08 Eligibility for the <strong>Master</strong>’s Degree Plus 30 Semester<br />

Hours track shall be based on credit earned after the date<br />

of the master’s degree.<br />

901.09 Eligibility for the <strong>Master</strong>’s Degree Plus 30 Semester<br />

Hours track and the Ph.D. Degree track shall be granted<br />

for graduate study in the field of education or graduate<br />

study which is generally related to the teacher’s area of<br />

certification.<br />

901.10 The annual contract salary for members of the bargainingunitonteachers’<br />

payroll plan A or teachers’ payroll<br />

plan B shall be divided into twenty-one (21) equal<br />

checks for teachers on payroll plan A and twenty-six<br />

(26) equal checks for teachers on payroll plan B and such<br />

members shall have the option of receiving their checks<br />

on plan A or plan B. The confidentiality of individual<br />

checks shall be maintained through the use of pay<br />

envelopes or other procedures mutually agreed upon by<br />

the parties.<br />

901.11 Notwithstanding Article 901, during the term of<br />

this <strong>Agreement</strong>, placement on the salary schedules in<br />

Article 902 shall be at the Bachelor’s Degree, 2-years<br />

experience step, unless and until such time as the training<br />

and experience places a teacher at a higher salary. No<br />

teacher placed at the Bachelor’s Degree, 2-years experience<br />

step shall be placed on that step for more than two<br />

consecutive school years. Teachers who move to the<br />
