211.04 Job Fair<br />

Any positions remaining vacant after August15willbe<br />

staffed with unassigned personnel. One or more job fairs<br />

may be heldbefore the start of the school year. Persons<br />

maybid for vacancies on the basis of certification and seniority.<br />

The Human Resources Department shall make the<br />

final assignment decisions. Vacancies filled through job<br />

fair(s) and assignment shall be considered filled for two<br />

school years. At the end of the second school year those<br />

teachers shall be considered staff reduced.<br />

211.05 Miscellaneous<br />

A. Vacancies that occur on or after the first day of student<br />

attendance during the first semester of the school year<br />

shall be filled with contract teachers. Vacancies that<br />

occur during the second semestermaybefilled with<br />

substitute teachers.<br />

B. Teachers may express their preferences related to their<br />

teaching assignment for the following school year at<br />

their assigned building by submitting such preferences<br />

in writing to the building principal prior to February 1.<br />

C. Teachers under contract during a school year will be<br />

notified in writing of their teaching assignment for the<br />

following school year not later than the close of the current<br />

school year. Such notification shall include the<br />

teacher’s proposed salary, school assignment and subject<br />

assignment. Any change in such assignment required by<br />

the needs of the school district will be made known to<br />

the teacher, in writing, as soon as possible.<br />

D. Teachers shall not be involuntarily assigned outside the<br />

scope of their teaching certificates/licenses or their<br />
