InDecember 1943 he moved to Hungary, was caught and detained in theTolonc prison. He escaped and joined the underground activities. Mareksaved the lives of members of the movement and other Jews. Thanks tohis Aryan appearance he was able to move around freely in the streets ofBudapest while wearing an Arrow Cross uniform. On his way to deliverforged documents, in December 1944, he was caught by Arrow Crossmen and executed.Gutmann SándorBorn in Kassa (Košice)Murdered in 1944Member of “Beitar”Sándor lived in Budapest from 1944 and was an underground activist.The Laciköz bunker where he was staying was attacked by Arrow Crossmen and gendarmes. He and his friends tried to break out of the bunkerbut were killed in a firearm battle with their attackers.
