Hans was caught inFebruary 1941, sentenced to forced labor and sent to a unit in Ukrainewhere he perished.Weidman ZorzetaVajdman ZorzetaBorn in Újvidék (Novi Sad) in 1924Murdered in 1942Member of “Hashomer Hatzair”Zorzeta was a member of the “Hashomer Hatzair” ken Újvidék. She tookpart in anti-fascist activities. Zorzeta was murdered by Hungarian soldiersin January 1942 during the Újvidék massacre.Weil SarahTaub ÉvaBorn in Nyirbogdány on 18.4.1920Member of “Hashomer Hatzair”Sarah’s father was a dentist and she practiced in his clinic. In 1941 shemarried Shraga Weil. When the deportations from Slovakia started in1942, the couple fled to Budapest. In 1943 they were caught by theHungarian police, imprisoned until 1944 and then under policesupervision in Miskolc. Sarah was her husband’s partner in hisunderground activities. She returned to Slovakia and was liberated in1945. Sarah returned to Hungary and integrated the movement’sactivities mainly rescuing Jewish youngsters and helping them makealiya. In 1947 she herself made aliya and became a member of KibbutzHa’ogen.<strong>Brothers</strong> for <strong>Resistance</strong> and <strong>Rescue</strong> 244
