Schwartz ShayeSchwartz FrigyesBorn in Kassa (Košice) on 31.7.1927Murdered in 1944Member of “Beitar”Shaye arrived in Budapest in 1944 thanks to forged documents given tohim by members of the movement. He helped set up bunkers. Hetraveled to the town of Munkács in order to distribute forged documents.Shaye stayed in a bunker in Laci köz that was attacked by brutal ArrowCross troopers and the gendarmes. Shaye and his friends tried to breakout and were killed in an exchange of fire with the attackers. Togetherwith Shaye, Sándor Guttmann, György Schwartz and another sevenfriends from Miskolc, whose names are unknown, were killed.Schwartz Shmuel ArieSchwartz SamuBorn in Szikszó in 1894Died in Tel-Aviv in 1953Member of "Mizrahi"Shmuel was drafted to the Hungarian army and fought as an officer inWW I. He stayed in an Italian prisoners’ camp for a year and a half. Afterhe returned from the war, he became a dedicated Zionist. In 1944Shmuel gave assistance to Jewish refugees who arrived in Budapestfrom Slovakia. In May to June 1944, the tiyul to Romania for the “BneiAkiva” movement was planned from his house. He used forged Aryandocuments. Shmuel was among the 24 official employees of the “GlassHouse” on 29, Vadász Street in Budapest and took part in theunderground activities. After the liberation he was active in the B’riha. Atthe Zionist Congress in 1946 he participated as an observer on behalf ofhis movement. In 1949 Shmuel made aliya.
