Ronel Aliza 'Lulu'Barmat AlizaBorn in Érsekújvár (Nové Zámky) on 6.2.1922Member of “Hashomer Hatzair”Aliza joined the movement under the influence of her older sister, Violet.She was active in the local ken. In 1939 she stayed at a hahshara inIzbék. From 1942 to 1944 Aliza gave assistance to the refugees arrivingto Budapest from Slovakia. At the end of June she left Hungary on theRelief and <strong>Rescue</strong> Committee train.In 1945 Aliza made aliya and joined Kibbutz Ein Dor. She left the kibbutzand lives in Holon.Ronen AmikamReichman AmikamBorn in Tel Aviv on 20.12.1927Died on 16.1.1999 in IsraelMember of “Hanoar Hatzioni”Amikam was born in Eretz Israel (Palestine) but happened to be inHungary with his mother on the eve of WW II. His father was a dentistwho worked in Angola and wanted his son to have a European education.In Eretz Israel (Palestine) he lived with his grandparents in Kfar Saba.When the Germans invaded Hungary on 19.3.1944, he was a twelfthgrade student at the Jewish high school and among the activists of“Hanoar Hatzioni” who operated in the underground. Amikam dealtmainly with the tiyul. He was caught and arrested by the Gestapo andincarcerated in the prison where the paratroopers from Eretz Israel(Palestine), Hanna Szenes, Joel Palgi and Peretz Goldstein, were beingheld. Amikam shared a cell with Peretz Goldstein. He was liberated in adaring operation of the Zionist underground on 25.12.1944. Amikamresumed his underground activities and dealt mainly with the release ofprisoners, the distribution of forged documents and the establishment ofchildren’s houses under the protection of the International Red Cross.After the liberation Amikam returned to Eretz Israel (Palestine), studiedeconomics, held professional and public positions, served in the IDF, inthe artillery and in the general headquarters as the head of the datacenter in the Operations Department. He was discharged with the rank ofcolonel. Amikam lived in Ramat Hasharon.<strong>Brothers</strong> for <strong>Resistance</strong> and <strong>Rescue</strong> 199
