November 1944 Amir organized a refuge for activists of the movement ina residential building and the defense of the house by men who hadescaped from forced labour units.After the war Amir took part in the organization of the B'riha mainly on theHungarian-Romanian border.In 1948 he made aliya, served in the IDF and later in the police force fromwhich he was discharged in 1979 with the rank of Brigadier General Amirdied in Israel.Dotán JosephVajda JózsefBorn in Nagymegyer (Vel’ký Meder) in 18.6.1923Member of “Hashomer Hatzair”Joseph studied in Bratislava and Moravská Ostrava. He joined“Hashomer Hatzair” in childhood. In 1943 he was conscripted into theHungarian army and later into a forced labour unit. Towards the end ofthe war he was transferred to Germany, escaped and arrived at the“Glass House” on Vadász Street in Budapest. In the underground Josephdealt with organization and defense, safeguarding the weapons and theirdistribution in case the place were attacked. Joseph also prepared lists ofProtection Documents and their distribution. After the liberation he wasactive in the children’s houses that were set up in order to rehabilitate thechildren and to prepare them for aliya. Joseph dealt with illegal aliya andescorted groups of Jews from Hungary to Romania. He made aliya andresides in Ramat Gan.Efrati TzviFrőhlich Herman SándorBorn in the town of Hajdunánás in 1923Died in 1991 in IsraelMember of “Hashomer Hatzair”Tzvi was born in a Jewish Orthodox family. In 1927 his family moved tothe city of Debrecen and in 1933 they moved to Budapest, where hestudied at the Jewish high school. In 1944 he was enlisted in a forcedlabor unit, escaped and found refuge in the “Glass House” on VadászStreet. He supplied food and forged documents. After the liberation hejoined Kibbutz Ehad BeMay and made aliya illegally on the vessel“Knesset Israel” that was intercepted by the British and he was sent toCyprus. During a struggle with British soldiers he was wounded in thehead.He arrived in Eretz Israel (Palestine)in 1947 and in 1948, together withhis friends, he founded Kibbutz Ga’aton.
