He was active in the building of the International Red Cross on4, Mérleg Street and mainly dealt with the forging of documents. InOctober 1944 <strong>And</strong>rew’s father was enlisted in a forced labor unit, made tomarch to the Mauthausen extermination camp but succeeded insurviving. At the end of November he saved a young girl by the name ofJaeger Piroska and hid her in his apartment. <strong>And</strong>rew’s mother managedto escape from the Death March and she hid thanks to forged documentsshe received from her son. After the war <strong>And</strong>rew arrived in Germany,worked as a journalist for the Útunk (Our Way) newspaper in Hungarianand studied chemical engineering in Munich for two and a half years. In1949 <strong>And</strong>rew emigrated to the US and his parents also followed himthere. He is an independent real-estate agent.
