Hőnig Braha 'Bruhi'Hőnig BorbálaBorn in Carpatho-Ruthenia in 1928Passed awayMember of “Hashomer Hatzair”Braha arrived in Budapest in 1942 and joined the already outlawed“Hashomer Hatzair” movement. After the German invasion of Hungary on19.3.1944, she equipped herself with forged Aryan documents and wentunderground. She was a liaison person among the members of themovement, passed on information about meetings and mainly about thedeparture of the tiyul. After the Arrow Cross Party formed the governmenton 15.10.1944, together with two of her friends who were her roommates,Braha safeguarded six suitcases, that contained the equipment of theforgery workshop, brought to them by <strong>David</strong> <strong>Gur</strong>. In 1945, after theliberation, Braha emigrated to France and studied at university in Paris.Braha had a tragic death.Horn YehudaHorn TiborBorn in Budapest on 14.7.1926Died on 3.4.2000 in IsraelMember of “Hanoar Hatzioni”On 19.3.1944, when the Germans invaded Hungary, Yehuda wasstudying in the Rabbinical Seminary which the Hungarian police turnedinto a prisoners’ camp. The students were forced to work in the camp.Yehuda Horn made contact with the prisoners, passed on information totheir relatives and to various authorities and revealed their location. Manydetainees managed to escape thanks to this information. Horn himselfserved in a forced labor unit, escaped and returned to Budapest.Yehuda made aliya in the 60’s. He worked as an architect and resides inJerusalem.<strong>Brothers</strong> for <strong>Resistance</strong> and <strong>Rescue</strong> 135
