Her brother died in a work accident in the nearby quarry. Sarahhelped refugees, members of her movement that arrived in Budapest.She provided food and food coupons for them and even accommodatedsome of them in her house. She obtained authentic documents from thePopulation Registry.Sarah made aliya after the liberation of Hungary and joined KibbutzYassur. Later she left the kibbutz and lived in Ra’anana.Sas DovBorn in Kassa (Košice) in 1922Fell in 1944Member of “Hashomer Hatzair”Dov was a member of the ken’s leadership in his hometown. He wasenlisted in a forced labor unit and sent to Ukraine. He managed to crossthe enemy lines and joined the Red Army. He fell in battle in 1944.Schamschula KatalinHerzfeld RutBorn in Budapest on 29.3.1926Died in 2003 in AustraliaMember of “Hanoar Hatzioni”In 1938 Katalin joined the “Hanoar Hatzioni” movement. Her family gaveassistance to the first refugees from Poland. After the Germans invadedHungary on 19.3.1944, Katalin was taken to Tattersaal (Todt Lager). InDinnyés Borgonpuszta, rescued by members of her movement andarrived at the “Glass House” on Vadász Street. Under the name ofHorváth Katalin, Katalin distributed forged documents around the city.After the liberation she intended to make aliya and arrived in Romaniabut, due to an illness, she was forced to return to Budapest.
