CertIFICate OF InSpeCtIOn<br />

1. Certificate <strong>of</strong> Inspection, valid for not more than two months beyond the due date <strong>of</strong> the next certificate inspection, is<br />

issued by the department. A fee <strong>of</strong> $50.00 shall be charged for each certificate.<br />

2. Upon written approval <strong>of</strong> a written request by the owner/user with the inspector’s concurrence, a longer period between<br />

certificate inspections may be given by the state.<br />

State FeeS<br />

A total <strong>of</strong> $100.00 per hour <strong>of</strong> actual time at location, plus $50.00 certificate fee.<br />

mISCellaneOUS<br />

1. A license shall be issued by the commissioner to an inspector for the first-year period upon payment <strong>of</strong> a fee <strong>of</strong> $30.00.<br />

<strong>The</strong> license may be renewed every year upon payment <strong>of</strong> a fee <strong>of</strong> $20.00 <strong>and</strong> copy <strong>of</strong> current <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> commission<br />

card.<br />

2. All secondh<strong>and</strong> boilers or pressure vessels must be inspected by an inspector holding a <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> Commission. Data<br />

submitted by the inspector shall be filed by the owner with the commissioner for the commissioner’s approval.<br />

3. <strong>Boiler</strong>s or unfired pressure vessels that do not conform to the ASME Code may be operated as a hobby or for educational<br />

or historical purposes only (provided an inspection, in accordance with the rules <strong>of</strong> the commissioner, is made<br />

annually).<br />

Lap-seam boilers under this section are limited to 100 psig. Such boilers or unfired pressure vessels normally located<br />

outside this jurisdiction may — upon application to the commission — be permitted to operate for a period not exceeding<br />

seven days, provided the object has an operating certificate from the state in which it is normally operated.<br />

4. An operator’s license is not required to operate a boiler or pressure vessel.<br />
