All boilers, pressure vessels, plants, pressure piping systems, <strong>and</strong> fittings except:<br />
1. Pressure piping systems that:<br />
a. contain hot water at a pressure <strong>of</strong> 1/103 kilopascals or less or at a temperature <strong>of</strong> 121°C or less; <strong>and</strong><br />
b. form part <strong>of</strong> a low-pressure boiler plant.<br />
2. Pressure piping systems that are not connected to, or used in connection with, a boiler or pressure vessel;<br />
3. Medical gas piping systems;<br />
4. Air piping with a diameter <strong>of</strong> 25.4 millimetres or less;<br />
5. Any <strong>of</strong> the following types <strong>of</strong> pressure vessels that are used in connection with a pipeline as defined in <strong>The</strong> Pipelines Act,<br />
1998:<br />
a. odourizer tanks;<br />
b. dust pots;<br />
c. gas drips;<br />
d. storage tanks for hydraulic valve operators;<br />
e. pig traps;<br />
f. indirect fired heater coils;<br />
6. Potable water heaters with an internal diameter greater than 610 millimetres that:<br />
a. operate at a pressure not exceeding 1/103 kilopascals;<br />
b. have a heat input not exceeding 58.67 kilowatts;<br />
c. produce a water temperature not exceeding 99°C; <strong>and</strong><br />
d. have a water capacity not exceeding 454 litres;<br />
7. Pressure vessels used as the external enclosure <strong>of</strong> pressurized gas-filled electrical high voltage switch gear or control<br />
gear;<br />
8. Low pressure boilers installed in a private residence designed to accommodate not more than three families;<br />
9. A pressure vessel that is used for the transportation <strong>of</strong> dangerous goods as defined in the Transportation <strong>of</strong> Dangerous<br />
Goods Act, 1992 (Canada);<br />
10. A boiler or pressure vessel to which the Canada Shipping Act applies or that is subject to the jurisdiction <strong>of</strong> the Canadian<br />
Transportation Agency pursuant to the Canada Transportation Act;<br />
11. A pipeline as defined in <strong>The</strong> Pipelines Act, 1998;<br />
12. Gas equipment or a gas installation as defined in <strong>The</strong> Gas Licensing Act;<br />
13. A boiler that is used in connection with a hot liquid heating system that has no valves or other obstructions to free<br />
circulation between the boiler <strong>and</strong> an expansion tank that is fully vented to the atmosphere;<br />
14. A high pressure boiler that has a heating surface with an area <strong>of</strong> two square metres or less;<br />
15. A low pressure boiler that has a heating surface with an area <strong>of</strong> three square metres or less;<br />
16. A pressure vessel that has a volume <strong>of</strong> 0.0425 cubic metres or less;<br />
17. A pressure vessel that has an internal diameter <strong>of</strong> 152 millimetres or less;<br />
18. A pressure vessel that is used for the storage <strong>of</strong> hot water <strong>and</strong> has an internal diameter <strong>of</strong> 610 millimetres or less;<br />
19. Those exempt under CSA B51 code. OBJECTS SUBJECT TO RULES FOR FIELD INSPECTION<br />

Same as OBJECTS SUBJECT TO RULES FOR CONSTRUCTION AND STAMPING, except the following: heating boilers in private<br />
residences <strong>and</strong> hot-water tanks less than 24 inches in diameter in a private residence designed to accommodate not more<br />
than three families.<br />
