Construction:<br />

1. ASME Code (2001 Edition, 2002 Addendum), Sections I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII (Divisions 1, 2), IX, X, XI, <strong>and</strong> code cases<br />

with <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> stamping.<br />

2. ASME CSD-1 (2002 Edition).<br />

3. ASME PVHO-1 (1997 Edition).<br />

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Every effort has been made to make<br />

jurisdictional laws, regulations <strong>and</strong> rules are subject to change<br />

4. Manufacturers must file copy <strong>of</strong> Manufacturer’s Data Report with the department on ASME forms before installation.<br />

All boilers <strong>and</strong> pressure vessels must be shop-inspected <strong>and</strong> stamped ASME (except low-pressure heating boilers) <strong>and</strong><br />

<strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> by an inspector holding a <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> Commission.<br />

Stamping:<br />

Where appropriate, the following <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> stamps or ASME Code symbol stamps are required:<br />

1. <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong>: VR.<br />

2. ASME Code: A, E, H, PP, U.<br />

All boilers <strong>and</strong> unfired pressure vessels shall be stamped with a District <strong>of</strong> Columbia serial number with the letters “DC” at the beginning<br />

<strong>and</strong> end <strong>of</strong> the number.<br />

All boilers <strong>and</strong> pressure vessels, except:<br />

1. Those under federal government jurisdiction.<br />

2. Those on boats or floating equipment.<br />

3. Those on railway locomotives.<br />

4. Those under the Public Utilities Commission jurisdiction.<br />

5. Unfired pressure vessels with a capacity <strong>of</strong> 15 gallons or less, <strong>and</strong> those constructed for a pressure <strong>of</strong> 60 psi or less.<br />
