Expenses shall include travel time <strong>and</strong> mileage. Department will charge for inspector’s travel time from <strong>of</strong>fice to inspection site <strong>and</strong><br />
return. Travel time will be charged at the same rate as that for the inspection, audit, or survey. Mileage, or actual cost <strong>of</strong> purchased<br />
transportation, will be charged at the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> financial management-approved rate. Hotel <strong>and</strong> meals: Actual cost not to exceed the<br />
<strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> financial management-approved rate.<br />
For vessels to be considered by the board for a state special certificate, a fee <strong>of</strong> $407.40 must be paid to the department before<br />
the board meets. <strong>The</strong> board may, at its discretion, prorate the fee when a number <strong>of</strong> vessels which are essentially the same are to be<br />
considered.<br />
mISCellaneOUS<br />
1. <strong>The</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> <strong>Rules</strong> for Repairs <strong>and</strong> Alterations to <strong>Boiler</strong>s <strong>and</strong> Pressure Vessels is acceptable to the department.<br />
2. <strong>The</strong> <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> “R” form <strong>and</strong> completed traveler are required for all repairs <strong>and</strong> alterations. Repair organizations<br />
shall hold a <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> “R” Certificate <strong>of</strong> Authorization.<br />
3. <strong>The</strong> appropriate <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> Certificate <strong>of</strong> Authorization is required to repair <strong>and</strong> restamp safety devices.<br />
4. <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> rules for riveted repairs are acceptable to the department with concurrence <strong>of</strong> the chief inspector.<br />
5. Examinations for Certificate <strong>of</strong> Competency may be held at the <strong>of</strong>fice <strong>of</strong> the chief inspector by appointment. Examination<br />
fee is required.<br />
6. Depending on boiler controls, an operator may be required to be in attendance during boiler operation.<br />
7. A copy <strong>of</strong> the boiler <strong>and</strong> pressure vessel rules <strong>and</strong> regulations may be obtained on the Internet at<br />
www.lni.wa.gov/<br />
8. Civil penalties are as described in Washington Administrative Code 296-104-701 for operating without a valid certificate or<br />
installation permit, or operating (under pressure) a boiler <strong>and</strong>/or pressure vessel which the department has condemned,<br />
issued a red tag for, or has suspended the inspection certificate.<br />
