7. Hydrostatic tests: When it is necessary to make a special trip to witness the application <strong>of</strong> a hydrostatic test, an<br />

additional fee based on the scale <strong>of</strong> fees applicable to a certificate inspection <strong>of</strong> the boiler shall be charged.<br />

8. Inspections, including shop inspections, shop reviews, special inspections, <strong>and</strong> inspections <strong>of</strong> secondh<strong>and</strong> or used boilers,<br />

when made by the chief or deputy inspector, shall be charged a fee <strong>of</strong> $500.00 per day.<br />

9. <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> “R” Stamp Reviews: When a state inspector participates in a stamp review conducted by <strong>The</strong> <strong>National</strong><br />

<strong>Board</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Boiler</strong> <strong>and</strong> Pressure Vessel Inspectors, or inspects welded repairs to a boiler, the fee charged shall be $500.00<br />

per day.<br />

mISCellaneOUS<br />

1. Emergency cut<strong>of</strong>f switch is required on each hot water supply boiler equipped with power burners, as well as boilers<br />

with a BTUH input <strong>of</strong> 400,000 or more (regardless <strong>of</strong> burner type). Each heating <strong>and</strong> power boiler must have an emergency<br />

shutdown switch at each exit to meet NFPA 70 requirements. Input <strong>of</strong> 12,500,000 BTUH or more must meet<br />

requirements <strong>of</strong> NFPA 85, 85A, 85F.<br />

2. Hot water supply boiler cannot be used for comfort heat.<br />

3. Each pool heater must have a safety relief valve <strong>and</strong> pressure switch or flow switch. Heaters generating 400,000 BTUH<br />

or more must meet requirements <strong>of</strong> ASME Section IV <strong>and</strong> be registered with the <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong>.<br />

4. Each person who installs, repairs, or tests boilers with a capacity <strong>of</strong> 1,250,000 BTUH or more must be authorized by<br />

the chief inspector before proceeding.<br />

5. Certificate <strong>of</strong> Competency identification card is issued to inspectors holding a <strong>National</strong> <strong>Board</strong> Commission for a fee <strong>of</strong><br />

$25.00, upon application to the chief inspector together with a photostatic copy <strong>of</strong> said commission.<br />
