8.4.3 FinanceThe following figure summarises the performance of the Finance sector in the UDMfrom 1996 to 2011. As can be seen, there was a decline in the Finance sector from1996 to 2002 where after there has been a period of gradual growth. From 2002onwards, the sector grew with two peaks in 2003 (approximately 12%) and 2006(approximately 28%). The average growth rate of this sector from 1996 to 2011 was4.1% per annum8.4.4 TradeThe following figure summarises the contribution of the trade sector in the district tothe national total.
