4) Financial Viability andfinancial ManagementI commend your municipality for beingamong the few municipalities in theprovince and country to receive aClean audit from the Auditor General(AG).We will strive to achieveclean audit.An action plan to be in place toaddress audit findings.Our focus area will becompliance, performanceinformation and findings arisingfrom the quarterly interactionswith the Auditor-General.FinanceTo improve debt collection rate.It is encouraging that the municipalityhas provided a budget breakdown forthe next three (3) years and that yourincome increased in the 2012/13financial year.It is acknowledged that yourmunicipality has reviewed the 2011/12financial Plan which includes thecurrent status, future plans, as well asstrategy to eliminate the gaps.We have taken over thewater function fromuThukela Water from 1 July2013.The financial plan is to bereviewed continuously toaddress gaps identified and toensure future plans are stillachievable.Similarly, your IDP has articulated thefinancial challenges faced by themunicipality.
