The municipality has a turnaround strategy in place which comprises of ten priorities, andquarterly reports on the implementation of the ten priorities are being submitted to COGTAthrough Municipal Support Infrastructure Agency. The turnaround strategy and outcome 9 areboth aimed at improving the living quality of life for the communities. OPERATION CLEAN AUDITGovernment has set a target for the government departments and municipalities to achieveOperation Clean Audit by 2014. Umzinyathi District Municipality managed to achieve OperationClean Audit for the 2011/12 financial year, which was before the national target which is 2014.
