6.2 Period of residenceMap 26: Period of residencePeriod of residence is usually a good indication of migration andmovement of people. The normal pattern is that the rural areas (farms andtraditional) are very stable with little indications of movement while urbanareas and especially the traditional lower income areas show high levels ofchanges. The next map confirms this lack of movement.There are a few areas where new households are present. The Dundee-Glencoe complex shows some new households and there are a number ofareas in the traditional areas where there where a very marginal influx ofnew people. There are however, many areas, which are very stable withno indication of any migration.
