CAPITAL INFRASTRUCTURE INVESTMENT PROGRAMME (2013/14, 2014/15 AND 2015/16)In terms of the infrastructure projects (water and sanitation), the municipality will be spending an amount to the value of R 555,891,000.00for the next three years to reduce water and sanitation backlogs.The value of 2013/14 water projects is R 51,100,000.00 and R135,405,000 for sanitation projects. The municipality is intending to reduce thewater backlog which will be 28,181 households by June 2013, and will be reduced by 750 households during 2013/14 financial year, thesanitation backlog which will be 18,332 households by June 2013, and will be reduced by 6,831 households during 2013/14 financial year.
