As can be seen, there was a decline in the Finance sector from 1996 to 2002 whereafter there has been a period of gradual growth. From 2002 onwards,the sector grew with two peaks in 2003 (approximately 12%) and 2006 (approximately 28%).The average growth rate of this sector from 1996 to 2011 was 4.1% per annum4.7.4 TRADEThe following figure summarises the contribution of the trade sector in the district to the nationaltotal.
