Section 53 ( 1) (k) of the Act prescribes that a disaster managementplan must contain contingency plans and emergency procedures in the event of a disaster,providing for prompt disaster response and relief and the procurement of essential goods andservices.The Disaster management center budgets annually for the purchase of relief materialsin the form of tents, blankets and plastic sheeting. This material is provided to victims ofdisasters or serious incidents when necessary.
