Your IDP has clearlystipulated various mechanisms thatyou have engaged for effective publicparticipation. I also noted that yourmunicipality has a communicationPolicy which is essential in promotingaccessibility of information to thepublic and also promotestransparency.Your presentation on publicparticipation was encouraging;however, it was not evident on howyou engaged special groups (e.g.,people with disabilities, the elderly,youth, people living with HIV/AIDS,blind, etc) in the IDP development.Please report on this in your IDPReview.1. PWD: Most of theprogrammes PWDparticipate in arethose cascaded bythe Province due tolimited resourcesand lack ofcapacity, of whichwe are planning toaddress it beforethe end of thisfinancial year;2. Elderly: They areinvolved mostly inthe sportsprogrammes fromwards, local, up tothe District. Theyalso participate inthe Provincialprogrammescascaded to theDistrict. Lookingforward to erect astructure that willspearhead theirprogrammes andcome up with theprogramme ofaction.3. Youth: Most of theyouthmatters/issues arecross-cutting withother projects,especially in LEDand sportsdevelopment.1. PWD:a) Revival of thestructures, localand District level;b) Basic skillsdevelopment, i.e.,basic computerliteracy and othersto be proposed bythis sector;c) Holding districtawarenesscampaigns onmainstreamingdisabilityprogrammes andtheir social welfare;2.
