I am directed to refer to your letter C. No. Master File PA/1/97/66, dated 19 th
July, 1997 on the subject noted above.
2. You are requested to regularize the old cases, by getting the photocopies
verified/stamped from the respective Customs stations. The original copies may be
defaced in a conspicuous manner to prevent possible misuse.

SUBJECT:- SALES TAX ON BAGASSE
The undersigned is directed to refer to your letter No.PSMA/A.8/97/331, dated
25 th June, 1997 on the subject cited above and to state that sales tax collection on bagasse
has taken place in the Collectorates of Faisalabad, Hyderabad, Lahore and Peshawar
during 1996-97. Hence there is no question of invoking section 65(A) of the Sales Tax
Act, 1990.

SUBJECT:-
PROCEDURE TO REGULATE EXEMPTION OF SALES TAX
ON SUPPLY OF COTTON SEED WHICH IS USED IN THE
MANUFACTURE OF COTTON SEED OIL BY THE
REGISTERED PERSONS.
Supply of cotton seed which is used in the manufacture of cotton seed oil by the
registered persons is exempt from levy of sales tax vide item 40 (I) of the Sixth Schedule
