You may please recall that you were invited to get yourself registered . enrolled vide<br />

Collectorate‘s letter No……….dated…………….., as required under the law. It is, however,<br />

registered that, you have neither responded nor contacted personally.<br />

2. You are, therefore, again advised to approach this Collectorate for registration /<br />

enrollment, as the case be. Kindly note that in case you fail to apply for registration / enrollment<br />

(a) You will be compulsorily registered / enrolled under section 19 of the Act without any<br />

further notice;<br />

(b) you will be expected to file monthly return by the 15 th of each month indicating the net tax<br />

payable and to deposit the tax accordingly.<br />

EXTENSION IN DATE OF FILING OF SALES TAX RETURN<br />

I am directed to refer to Pakistan Federation of Chamber of Commerce and<br />

Industry‘s letter No.FPCCI-CBR/2001/1437/3278, dated 18.07.2001 (copy enclosed) on<br />

the subject cited above and to state that as reported by FPCC&I several registered persons<br />

could not file their sales tax return for the month of June, 2001 in time because of the<br />

uncertainty as to whether they were required to file one return or two separate returns.<br />

However, when they came to know that Board has clarified the legal position vide its<br />

letter of even number dated 13.07.2001 read with its subsequent letter of even number<br />

dated 16.07.2001, the date of filing sales tax return in terms of section 26(1)of the <strong>Sales</strong><br />

<strong>Tax</strong> Act, 1990 had already expired in case of such registered persons. In order to save
