The category (II) has to maintain the following records:-<br />

-- invoices, bank statements, and inventory records and<br />

-- evidence of tax paid at import or local manufacture.<br />

2. What is tax invoice ?<br />

Whenever you make you make taxable supply, you must give the buyer a document<br />

showing information about what you are supply and how much sales tax you are charging<br />

on it. This document is called a ―tax invoice‖.<br />

3. What must a tax invoice show ?<br />

If you a registered person, your tax invoice tax must show the following:-<br />

-- an identifying number like a serial number indicating that no two<br />

invoices issued by you ever should have the same number.<br />

-- Your name. Address and sales tax registration number.<br />

-- Time of supply.<br />

-- Date of issue.<br />

-- Name, address and sales tax registration number of the recipient, if any.<br />

-- Description of goods.<br />

-- Quantity of goods.<br />

-- Value exclusive of tax.<br />

-- Rate of sales tax.<br />

-- Value inclusive of tax.<br />

-- Total sales tax payable.<br />

The specimen invoice at 4 [page 7] of this leaflet is for illustration only.<br />

-- if you are an importer, distributor, or wholesaler who have no issue a tax<br />

replacement invoice while making supplies of tax paid goods, your invoice must<br />

show the following:-<br />

-- an identifying number like a serial number indicating that no two<br />

invoices issued by you ever should have the same number your name,<br />

address and sales tax registration number.<br />

-- name and address of the recipient and registration number, if any.<br />

-- date of issue of the invoice.<br />

-- description and quantity of goods.<br />

-- amount of sales tax paid at earlier stage.<br />

-- value inclusive of tax at earlier stage.<br />

-- If you are a turnover taxpayer, your tax invoice should indicate the<br />

following:-<br />

-- an identifying number like a serial number indicating that no two<br />

invoices issued by you ever should have the same number.
