SUBJECT:- ENHANCEMENT OF FIXED TAX ON IRON AND STEEL
WELDED PIPE LEVIABLE VIDE SRO 381(I)/90, DATED 24 TH
APRIL 1990.
I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and to say that it has been
decided to enhance rate of sales tax on iron and steel welded pipe, whether or not
galvanized from its present rate of Rs.550/- per metric ton to Rs.750/- per metric. The
same enhanced rate shall also be applicable on scrap of all types generated by the said
industry.
2. The rates shall be applicable from 1 st November 1993. A notification on
the subject is being issued.

SUBJECT:- ENHANCEMENT OF FIXED TAX ON PAPER CONES AND
NON-SPIRAL PAPER CHEESE LEVIABLE VIDE SRO 695(I)/92,
DATED 22 ND JULY 1992.
I am directed to refer to the subject noted above and to say that it has been
decided to enhance rate of sales tax on paper Cones and Non Spiral Cheese from its
present rate of 1.5 paisa to two paisa per Cone and non-spiral cheese.
2. It is important to mention that spiral cheese have been omitted from the
scope of the said notification. These are to be charged to sales tax at ad val. rate of 15%.
3. The distinguishable features of spiral cheese from non-spiral cheese are
as follows: -

The spiral cheese is made on spiral pattern and its distinguishable shape
can be observed from inside of the cheese.
