02. In view of the aforesaid reason, the Central Board of Revenue, in
exercise of powers under section 74 of the Sales Tax Act, 1990, and section 43(2) of the
Federal Excise Act, 2005, is pleased to extend the due date for filing of sales tax-cumfederal
excise return and invoice summary statements for the tax period September, 2007
to 27th October, 2007, by the registered persons falling in the jurisdiction of Large
Taxpayers Unit, Karachi, and Sales Tax House, Karachi.

SUBJECT: REVISION OF SALES TAX & FEDERAL EXCISE RETURN –
PROCEDURE REGARDING
I am directed to refer to PRAL‘s letter ref no. PRAL/PM/6 dated 11.12.2007 on
the subject noted above as sent to all Collectorates and to say that newly devised module
shall allow online processing of requests for revision of returns. In this respect, all the
Collectors are advised as under:

The sanctity of password should be strictly observed. Currently passwords
are assigned to Collectors and the same are used for viewing return
information. However, when processing and approving of requests as noted
above is involved, password privacy has prime importance. In no case such
passwords be provided to other officers to work on behalf of the
Collectors.
If the Collectors feel that they would not be able to process such requests,
they should get ID/ passwords from PRAL for the officer /
(iii) A hard copy of record of all such permissions shall be duly maintained in
the Collectorates.
