SUBJECT: CONFERENCE OF COLLECTORS OF SALES TAX &
CENTRAL EXCISE SCHEDULED TO BE HELD ON 8 TH MAY
2005
I am directed to inform that the Chairman, CBR has desired to convene the
conference of the Collectors of Sales Tax and Central Excise on Sunday, the 8 th may
2005 at Islamabad. All the Collectors are directed to attend.
2. The agenda items of the conference are:

Review of the performance vis-à-vis targets assigned to the
Collectorates;
Collectorate‘s revenue target for remaining two months of current fiscal
year and strategy to achieve the same with particular reference to the
specific areas to be utilized for filing up revenue gap in the next two
months;
Strategy for achieving overall targets and goals assigned by the Prime
Minister;
Refund pendency and disposal during the year, duly reconciled with
STARR;
Analysis of return filers in the Collectorate;
Identify the taxpayers who are not making net tax payment in
commensurate with the taxable supplies and the measures taken against
them to ensure proper tax payment to the exchangers;
Gap analysis of sugar, with particular reference to input ration and net
tax payment;
