SUBJECT:-
SALES TAX ON COTTON SEED & COTTON.
I am directed to refer to your letter No. 802/3/387/98, dated 15 th April, 1998 and
to say that the Board agrees in principle to consider your request for waiver of additional
tax/penalties (if not yet paid) on cotton seed supplied w.e.f. 16 th October, 1996 to 13 th
April, 1998 and on cotton supplied w.e.f. 1 st July, 1996 to 14 th March, 1998 subject to the
following conditions:-
1. Individual ginning unit intimate their intention to pay due sales tax to the
respective Collector of Sales Tax and the PCGA by 30 th April, 1998 and also
pay the taxes due on the above mentioned supplies by 25 th May, 1998;
2. PCGA/Ginning Unit withdraw Court Cases filed by them against levy of sales
tax on cotton seed; and
3. This letter shall not entitle any one to claim refund of any tax, additional tax or
penalty already paid.
