at ændre verden til det bedre, hvis en reel<br />

kontekstuel diskussion fryses ude i kraft<br />

af, at der udelukkende fokuseres på det<br />

symbolske og progressive samtidig med, at<br />

en stor del af det faktiske ’blot’ ønskes ændret<br />

frem for forstået og analyseret. At nuancere<br />

forståelsen af nationalstaten (hvilket ikke er<br />

at forveksle med nationalisme) er bestemt<br />

en god idé, men at alle nationale forstås i<br />

ét (dårligt) lys synes forsimplende. Der er<br />

endnu ikke foreslået et reelt alternativ til det<br />

såkaldt nationale problem, der er rodfæstet<br />

i en politisk og økonomisk verden, som<br />

stadig er udgjort af nationalstater. Tolerance<br />

bør fremmes, men ikke nødvendigvis på en<br />

måde, der hierarkiserer rigtig og forkert<br />

kultur og dermed mest af alt ligner en<br />

tolerance, der handler om at være ligesom<br />

’os’ (hvem vi så end er?).<br />
