In the Fama Brother C.R. was placed in a
cloister until he was 5. A cloister, indicates the
state of limitation and bondage prior to
liberation. To be placed in a cloister is to be shut
away and separated from the rest of mankind.
The soul assumes the burdens of the apparent
limitations imposed by its incarnation in human
personality. In John: "The Logos (Christos)
became flesh, and tabernacle among us; and we
beheld his radiance, a radiance as a son one-
begotten from a father, full of grace and truth."
The spiritual motivation come from the
awakening of our desire by an impulse
originating in the universal and indivisible self.
Unless this eager longing is stirred, the
indwelling Christos remains locked in the
cloister of the 5-sense life. Thus all mystery rites
agrees that the first preparation of a candidate for
initiation must be in the heart.

trouble as Azazel. There is doubt whether it is
the cognomen given by the writer to a being, to a
locality, or simply to an animal driven away.

antithesis to Jehovah. The cognomen originally
stood as 5~ azaz El, which signifies 'the
strong El, 'the being who causes misfortune,
disease, and death;' in other words, 'the demon of
